Accessibility Note

At United Internet, we are committed to ensuring that our career page is accessible to all users. We want to provide everyone interested in a career with us with access to information about us as an employer, our open positions, potential career paths, and the application process. We view accessibility as an integral part of a fair and inclusive application experience. Our own quality requirement is to meet the standards of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) / European Accessibility Act (EAA) wherever possible.

About This Website

At https://www.united-internet.de/jobs-karriere/ you will find information on current vacancies, apprenticeships and direct entry opportunities, the relevant application process, and authentic insights into working environments at United Internet. The actual application is submitted via external applicant tracking systems, which are linked to from this website.

This accessibility statement applies to the United Internet AG career page published at https://www.united-internet.de/jobs-karriere/.

Our Commitment

We are constantly striving to improve the accessibility of this website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These internationally recognised guidelines ensure that digital content is perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for all users. This includes people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, speech recognition software or keyboard navigation.

To make the carrer website easier for everyone to use, we have implemented the following measures in particular:

  • Keyboard navigation: The website can be navigated using a keyboard, ensuring that users who are unable to use a mouse can find their way around with confidence. A skip link (“Skip to content”) allows users to bypass the main navigation; the navigation elements are tagged with ARIA labels; and in the mobile menu, the keyboard focus remains specifically there (focus trap). Visible focus indicators are also provided for keyboard users.
  • Alternative text: Images, icons and meaningful visual elements of an informative nature are provided with descriptive alternative text to support users of screen readers; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms: Input fields, error messages and mandatory field indicators are formatted in such a way that they can be correctly recognised and interpreted by assistive technology.
  • Text contrast and readability: We ensure sufficient colour contrast between text and background to improve readability and support users with visual impairments. Known exceptions to this are listed in the following section.
  • Scalable text: Our text can be resized to accomodate different visual needs.
  • Structured content: Job listings are presented in tabular form with correctly marked-up column headings; the detail pages for job vacancies have been semantically revised.

Known Limitations and Areas for Improvement

Although we strive to make our website fully accessible, there may be some limitations. We are working to resolve these issues and thank you for your patience whilst we continue to improve the user experience.

  • External applicant tracking systems: Due to the need to integrate external applicant tracking systems, there may be inconsistencies in the level of accessibility.
  • Multimedia: Embedded video content does not currently include subtitles, transcripts or audio description, as these serve a visual purpose and are therefore not considered essential to the content.
  • Third-party content and integrations may not be fully accessible.
  • Occasional contrast issues may arise with certain design elements.
  • Cookie banner: an external script is used for the cookie banner, which may make it difficult to use under certain circumstances.

Should you encounter any barriers, please do not hesitate to contact us.
